@Dess: Thank you for the correction - I took the opportunity to amend the article. I really hope they create a robust "Clone VM" gui option in the near future!

I believe HDD image clone command should be:

"C:\Program Files\Sun\VirtualBox\VBoxManage" clonehd DiskToCloneFrom.vdi NewClonedDisk.vdi

And thanx for the VM's XLM file clone method from part 2 of this article, very simple yet effective (IMHO, VBoxManage really lacks "clonevm" command - I definitely hate that guy that wrote that official "create new VM" clone solution...)

It would be GREAT if they'd offer this in Canada but somehow, I really don't think so. Not in the near future. Canada never gets the good stuff right away. We're just so backward in that way.

GMER is used as part of Combofix iirc. Which reminds me, I really need to decompile the latest version as it does some really interesting things with rootkits. Catchme is also by GMER [which you'll see in Combofix].

By the way, have an article on starting CPL files [control panel applets] and also the use of SED. Both should appear in the next few days.

Excellent rootkit finder. I find it way more friendly than RKU. I see it picks up on TDSS, UAC, Winlogon32/84 amongst others. Good find!
